Commemorative Forest for Istanbul Marathon

In Vodafone Istanbul Marathon, held in 16th of November 2014, participant athletes have donated saplings in voluntary basis during marathon expo, and a “Commemorative Forest” has been created with the help of Ağaç A.Ş. - a subsidiary company of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality-.

​

“Commemorative Forest” consists of 5000 saplings and also helps to protect lakes and watersheds. For this reason, planting has been done around Büyükçekmece Lake.

​

This environmentalist project that organization committee has given a start in 2014 will continue within the frame of social responsibility of Vodafone Istanbul Marathon in the upcoming years too.
